Invima issues alert over illegal MRI scanner that promises to detect 52 diseases

The National Institute for Drug and Food Surveillance (Invima) has issued a health alert regarding the illegal marketing of a supposed medical device called a Quantum Magnetic Resonance Analyzer, which is being promoted on digital platforms as a tool capable of diagnosing up to 52 diseases.
According to the official statement, the product is being offered to the public fraudulently, with unverified claims about its diagnostic capabilities and a health registration that does not exist in the Invima database.
"Any device advertised as a tool for diagnosing diseases, such as the Quantum Magnetic Resonance Analyzer, is considered a medical device," the organization warns, implying that its unauthorized marketing violates current regulations.

According to Decree 4725 of 2005, all medical devices intended for human use must have a health registration that guarantees their safety, efficacy, and quality. Invima emphasized that this type of authorization is essential to avoid risks to public health.
The institute warned that this product, despite its ambitious promises, has no scientific backing or authorization for use in the country. Its use, in addition to being illegal, could lead to misdiagnoses and dangerous delays in appropriate medical treatment.
Given this situation, Invima (National Institute of Medical Devices) called on the public to refrain from using the device, report it to local health authorities, and report any incidents related to its use to the National Technovigilance Program. The agency also encouraged people to report any identified sales channels in order to stop its distribution.
