The government will approve the public employment offer, despite the unions' rejection.

The government will soon present the public employment offer for 2025 to the Council of Ministers, and the Independent and Civil Servants' Trade Union (CSIF) rejects it, placing it at around 20,000 positions, with the creation of only 4,500 net jobs .
In a statement, CSIF indicated that the 4,500 net jobs that would be created in the General State Administration (AGE) are less than half of those contemplated in last year's offer and represent 10% of the positions lost over the last 20 years. All unions have expressed their rejection of the government's proposal. According to this union, this loss amounts to more than 42,000 employees and requires urgent coverage.
Sources from the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service reported that, in the fourth and final meeting of the technical committee on temporary employment and employment held with the unions, they are grateful for the contributions they have made, which "have helped to improve the public employment offer that will soon be presented to the Council of Ministers."
CSIF has also complained that the proposal maintains the replacement rate, which "will prevent the reinforcement of deficit areas in line with real needs and will perpetuate the temporary employment rate."
Furthermore, the CSIF announced that the next public employment offer will include an additional fee for the Basque Country (specifically for the Justice sector), which will allow this autonomous community to strengthen its workforce beyond the common criteria for the rest. CSIF believes this will constitute "discrimination" against other administrations and violate the principle of equity in access to the services our citizens receive.
The offer also "significantly reduces internal promotion" compared to the previous offer and excludes personnel working abroad. He also denounced the "slowness" of the selection process, which has caused thousands of positions in the 2022 offer to lapse.
