Mendoza will host the 10th edition of the Israel Innovation Awards 2025: how to participate

This Monday, July 14th, the call for applications was officially launched for the 10th edition of the Israel Innovation Awards . This initiative seeks to identify and promote technological innovation projects developed in Argentina, with the goal of connecting them with companies and research centers in Israel . The announcement was made in the city of Mendoza and was attended by local and national authorities and diplomatic representatives.

The competition is sponsored by the Argentine-Israeli Chamber of Commerce (CCAI), the Embassy of the State of Israel in Argentina, and the Argentine Secretariat of Innovation, Science, and Technology, with the support of Argentine and Israeli companies. This year, it also has the support of the Government of Mendoza and the Municipality of Mendoza.

The meeting, held at the municipal building, was attended by the Mayor of Mendoza, Ulpiano Suárez; the Undersecretary of Institutional Relations of Mendoza, José María Videla Sáenz; the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Israeli Embassy in Argentina, Adam Levene; the President of the CCAI, Mario Montoto; and the National Director of Planning and International Affairs of the Secretariat of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Marcelo Marzocchini.

José María Videla Sáenz highlighted the province's commitment to scientific development: "From Mendoza, we celebrate innovation as a key pillar for the development of our societies and for strengthening the ties between Argentina, our province, and Israel. For years, we have been building sustained cooperation in various areas, under a shared commitment to progress, democracy, freedom, resilience, and technological exchange."

He added: “ We support any initiative that promotes innovation as a driver of growth . The presentation of the Israel Innovation Awards in Mendoza reflects that commitment. We want our entrepreneurs, researchers, and companies to connect with the Israeli ecosystem, generating synergies that allow us to address global challenges with local solutions.”

The call is aimed at entrepreneurs, startups, universities, research centers, and companies based in Argentina developing high-impact scientific and technological projects. This year, the organizers will place special emphasis on proposals related to:

• Biotechnology applied to health and agriculture
• Sustainable water management
• Aerospace and satellite technology
• Medical equipment
• Artificial intelligence

Applications will be open until July 30, 2025. Those wishing to apply can do so through an online form available on the official website of the Argentine-Israeli Chamber of Commerce.

A jury composed of experts in innovation and technology will evaluate the projects based on criteria such as degree of innovation, social impact, scalability, and technical and economic feasibility . The 10 highest-scoring projects will be invited to present to the final jury.

The winning project will receive a one-week trip to Israel, including airfare, accommodation, and medical insurance. During their stay, the selected individual or team will have a personalized meeting agenda with key players in the Israeli ecosystem: technology companies, universities, research centers, and the Israel Innovation Authority.

The Israel Innovation Awards not only offer symbolic and tangible recognition, but also seek to generate real opportunities for international collaboration.
