Frisby Spain makes decision on its stores amid controversy with Colombian brand: 'Get out of the controversy'

Charles Dupont, spokesman for Frisby Spain , said the brand made the decision to open physical stores in Europe, and the launch of its fast food business, according to him, was "the most talked-about in history."
Dupont stated that, with the goal of "getting away from the controversy," they will open 12 points of sale, two main restaurants, one in Madrid and one in Barcelona, and 10 hidden kitchens, kitchens that only make deliveries.
"In the 10 largest Spanish cities, to serve the largest number of customers. We are currently in an investment round , a round that is progressing rapidly and very positively," he said.

In an interview with Blu Radio, Charles Dupont said they didn't appropriate the Colombian brand, "it's a name and a graphic identity that was available in Europe, and that's what we did. We took advantage of a cultural void here ."
Regarding this, he noted that there are many people in Europe waiting for a restaurant with a touch of South American cuisine, and the name was available. " And just because a Colombian company has this name doesn't mean another company in the world can't register it ."

Regarding the brand appropriation, the Frisby Spain spokesperson said it was all a publicity stunt . "I think our launch campaign has worked extremely well, and no one can deny that," Dupont said.
He added: " The reality is that Frisby has never wanted to expand, and that's why it doesn't have an international monopoly. That's the reality."
Why Frisby? The Frisby Spain spokesperson said the only reason for choosing the Frisby Colombia brand and logo was because it was an advertising strategy that worked very well.

The man added to the aforementioned media that they spoke with Frisby Colombia about opening a franchise, but "they said they would think about it and never responded."
Regarding Frisby Colombia's original recipe, Dupont stated that it is not intellectual property: "If you cook chicken with honey, you cannot claim intellectual property."
However, he explained that he doesn't know Frisby's recipe , nor does he know anyone who has worked with him, and he has never tried the chicken.
However, he said that the restaurants will offer arepas, chicken, and cabbage salad.
