Children's Day 2025: How to take advantage of Toy Store Night and bank and virtual wallet promotions in August

Next Sunday, August 17th, Children's Day is celebrated, one of the most important dates of the second half of the year for retail. As every year, banks, digital wallets, and brands are beginning to launch special promotions and discounts with the aim of boosting consumption. Adding to this scenario is a key structural change: the relaxation of import policies, which expands supply, improves competitiveness, and redefines families' purchasing habits.

New for this edition are higher refund limits—up to $60,000, and even unlimited in some cases —and greater availability of interest-free installments, sometimes reaching 30, especially for technology. Another notable feature: clothing displaced toys as the most popular gift, while the estimated average spending does not exceed $50,000.

" For the first time, clothing surpasses toys as the most popular gift for Children's Day . The average spending is around $49,500, and retailers are using interest-free installments and discounts to stimulate consumption, which continues to be measured," said Damián Di Pace, director of Focus Market.

It is worth noting that the date now known as Children's Day has changed again: although it was initially announced for August 10, it will finally be celebrated on Sunday the 17th. In the midst of this rescheduling, Toy Store Night now has a confirmed date and will be this Friday the 8th .

More than 150 participating toy stores from across the country are participating in the event organized by the Argentine Chamber of Industry, offering benefits both in their physical stores and online. On this special evening, Several businesses in the area will extend their opening hours. Some will remain open until 8, 9, and even 10 p.m.

Banks such as Provincia will offer a 20% cashback and up to 6 interest-free payments. Also joining the program are Banco Macro (3 and 6 interest-free installments), Banco Credicoop (20% cashback with Cabal debit and 3 installments with credit), Banco Piano (15% cashback with debit), and special discounts with Banco Ciudad, ICBC, and Comafi.

Promotions from August 7 to 9 : On children's clothing, accessories, toy stores, bookstores, and participating shopping centers, Macro customers can enjoy 20%, 25%, and 30% savings without limits (depending on the segment) when paying with MODO and credit cards, and can pay in up to 12 interest-free installments.

Additionally, on August 7 and 8, there will be an unlimited 20% discount at shopping centers such as Factory Parque Brown, Palmas del Pilar, Plaza Oeste, Portal Rosario, and Unicenter, with Macro debit or credit cards and contactless payments. The promotion will be repeated on August 14 and 15 at shopping centers such as Abasto, Alto Palermo, DOT Baires, and others. And on August 17, in restaurants and movie theaters, there will be 30% savings, capped at $20,000 per category and customer, with contactless payments from mobile phones.

Throughout August , participating bike shops are offering up to 12 interest-free installments with Macro credit cards when paying with MODO. Additionally, from the 5th to the 11th, the Macro Premia promo adds an additional 10% savings (up to $30,000) and up to 18 interest-free installments at participating stores. During the same period, interest-free installments are also available on electronics and technology products, with an extra 10% online when paying with MODO.

Validity: from August 14th to 16th: During those days, Galicia customers will be able to access the following benefits when paying with their cards: Bookstores and Toy Stores: Galicia customers, 20% savings and 6 interest-free installments, with no maximum refund. Éminent customers: 25% savings and 6 interest-free installments , with no maximum refund. Children's and sportswear : Galicia customers, 25% savings and 6 interest-free installments, with a maximum refund of $30,000. Éminent customers: 30% savings and 6 interest-free installments, with a maximum of $60,000.

Banco Ciudad is offering up to 30% cashback and 12 interest-free installments on clothing, toy stores, and bookstores for Children's Day. Paying with bank cards and using the Ciudad App, Buepp, or MODO can save you up to $50,000 per transaction .

On August 13 and 14 , the program offers 30% cashback and up to 12 interest-free installments on clothing, and up to 6 installments on toy stores and bookstores. Limit: $50,000 per transaction , paying with Visa or Mastercard cards from the bank, either physical or with a QR code via the Ciudad, Buepp, or MODO apps.

Between August 4 and 17 , the PlayStation 5 can be purchased in up to 18 interest-free installments at participating retailers. Additionally, from August 11 to 17, there will be up to 18 interest-free installments on technology and electronics products from more than 30 selected brands.

Every Thursday in August, when paying with BBVA credit cards through the MODO app, you'll receive a 20% cashback and 3 interest-free installments at participating toy stores (monthly cap: $20,000 per user). Additionally, between August 9th and 16th, you'll receive an additional 20% cashback when paying with MODO, which can be combined with the base Thursday promotion.
