Carlos Alcaraz enters the top 7 millionaires in tennis

Carlos Alcaraz celebrated his last Grand Slam title of the 2025 men's tennis season (ATP Tour), confirming his name as one of the top figures to watch in the present and future, even though he's not even 23 years old.
Another satisfaction that this trophy gave him, after beating Jannik Sinner in the New York final and taking the top spot in the world rankings, is in the economic field.
From now on, Alcaraz is part of a select group of seven tennis players who have surpassed $50 million in purely sporting prize money in the history of the sport, including both men and women.
The Spaniard reached $53.48 million thanks to the $5 million he received as ATP prize money for the US Open title, marking his sixth Grand Slam trophy.
Those who have achieved this milestone are: Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Andy Murray, and Alexander Zverev. Williams is the only woman on the list, ranking fourth with over $94 million.
It should be noted that these figures correspond exclusively to prize money awarded by both the ATP and WTA for these players' participation in various tournaments. They do not include amounts from sponsorships or other external sources.
Furthermore, these are players who began competing in the 1990s onward. This also highlights the fact that prize money has increased dramatically in recent years, as legends of yesteryear are no longer on the list.
In fact, three of the seven listed are still active: Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, and Carlos Alcaraz. The most notable is the Spaniard, whose success at such a young age suggests a long line of titles to come in the coming years.
"I think I'm at my best in my career, not yet at 100%, but I'm working to get there. At 22, being at my best is difficult, I think. Little by little, I'll keep improving. Carlos hasn't been the best yet," Alcaraz said at the post-US Open title press conference.
“This US Open has probably been the year of my maturity. In 2022, I pushed myself almost to my limit physically. Little by little, I'm maturing, and I'm getting better at handling each situation. I think 2022 was the year of my youth, and this one is the year of my maturity.”
Carlos Alcaraz won his first Grand Slam at the 2022 US Open. He then won twice at Wimbledon and twice at Roland Garros. Now, with the New York double, he only needs to triumph at the Australian Open to record at least one title at every major tennis tournament.
Novak Djokovic, meanwhile, is the all-time leader in prize money in tennis with more than $190 million, including the $1.26 million he added for reaching the semifinals at the US Open, losing to Carlos Alcaraz.
There are still some major tennis tournaments to be played after the Grand Slams. On the men's circuit, two Masters 1000 tournaments and the ATP Finals stand out, while on the women's circuit, two more WTA 1000 tournaments and the WTA Finals are also on the agenda.
