Just as we enter the era of artificial intelligence-powered cell phones and advances in portability, a player from the past reappears in the global technology market: Blackberry .

The physical keyboard device, which dominated sales in the 2000s, may be making a comeback thanks to a community of fans led by Kevin Michaluk, better known as “CrackBerry Kevin.”

It all started when this community launched an iPhone case that featured a physical BlackBerry keyboard. The product surpassed 100,000 sales and encouraged people to continue the legacy of the past.

This happened last year. Even more surprising, Michaluk reported that more than half of buyers had never owned a Blackberry device , clearly demonstrating a fondness for this technology among the newer generation.

The sale of this case transformed the American company Apple's phone into a kind of hybrid that takes us back in time and evokes the days when the physical keyboard clicked on every thumb in the world.

But this gave rise to a more ambitious strategy, a website to collect signatures. The idea is that through the website BringBackBlackberry.com, Internet users can convince the Canadian company (which now focuses on cybersecurity issues) to license the brand so that Clicks (Michaluk's company) can manufacture a similar device, but adapted to the needs of the current market.

This is when this site becomes an ideal destination for many users, who remember the brand's use and reinforce the idea that it can adapt to today's market. The goal is to launch a phone with iOS or Android operating systems this year.

Obviously, the project depends 100% on the Canadian company's will. Nostalgia could clearly play a key role in the initiative, but it could put the company back within the media and technological framework, possibly opening the door to a revival of the most iconic brand in the early days of smartphones.
