There are three days left until Daniel Guzmán 's powerful feature debut disappears from Netflix Spain's catalog. This film, which won two Goya Awards and stars Miguel Herrán , an actor who would later triumph in Money Heist , is a must-see for fans of social cinema and youth dramas with a unique twist.
Released in 2015, A cambio de nada (In Exchange for Nothing) was Guzmán's debut feature film after years of acting. His first foray into directing was recognized with the Goya for Best New Director, while Herrán won the award for Best New Actor . The film, which also triumphed at festivals such as Málaga, where it won the Biznaga de Oro (Golden Biznaga ), addresses with rawness and tenderness the transition to adulthood in an urban environment plagued by family conflicts, erratic decisions, and unexpected connections.

Set in Madrid, the story centers on Darío, a teenager fleeing the chaos at home after his parents' separation. Along the way, he finds refuge in his friend Luismi, a mechanic named Caralimpia, and an elderly woman named Antonia, played by the director's own grandmother , Antonia Guzmán , who, at over 90 years old, made her big screen debut and was nominated for a Goya for Best New Actress.
At her side, Darío discovers a new way of seeing life. Luismi, Caralimpia, and Antonia become his new family during a summer that will change their lives. Through an honest and unpretentious perspective, In Exchange for Nothing constructs an intimate story about the bonds that form outside of traditional family ties. Other actors such as Miguel Rellán, María Miguel, and Luis Zahera round out the cast.
With a running time of 93 minutes, the film not only marked the beginning of Miguel Herrán's filmmaking career, but also established itself as one of the most important titles in recent Spanish cinema. For those who haven't seen it yet or would like to revisit it, Netflix will keep it in its catalog until Thursday, July 31st .
