Rihanna took her sons, 3-year-old RZA and almost 2-year-old Riot, to the Los Angeles premiere of The Smurfs yesterday evening. It marked a very special fashion moment for the trio, as the pregnant star wore Saint Laurent, and the boys dressed up in children’s versions of looks from Jonathan Anderson’s first Dior menswear collection. Rihanna also gave a revealing red carpet interview to Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier.

She told him that she does know the sex of her third child but didn’t do a big gender reveal. “A few people know,” she said. “But [there was] nothing spectacular, no production. Just a slip-up here and there, I guess. Don’t try to catch me now.”

She discussed her outfit, saying, “I got in trouble. I sat for five seconds, and I got told, ‘No sitting, no sitting.’”

Getting the boys into their little Dior looks wasn’t easy either. “It was getting them dressed and undressed, dressed and then undressed again ’cause they wanted to eat, lay down, tumble, and the last thing I did was get them dressed and then jump into my gown. It was like that,” she recalled.

The singer also opened up about her parenting style, discussing how her father, who recently passed away, prepared her for life with RZA and Riot. “I’ve always dreamed of what type of grandfather he would be to them because of [my] favorite parts of my dad,” she said. “I think it prepared me for having two boys. Really, truly, like the adventurous side of me, the outside side of me, the daredevil, it’s how I want to raise them. I want them to be outside and be in nature. No tablet babies. Yeah, [he inspired all of that], oh, for sure. That was the funnest part of my life, my childhood. Just running around outside, barefoot, free—you don’t get to do that anymore.”

At this point in her pregnancy, the star acknowledged she’ll “have to slow down soon, I know. I wish I could [slow down right now], honestly. We had a lot happening recently, and we got through all of it and now that I got home, we got right back to work. And luckily this is the stuff I love to do, and I’m just looking forward to being in one place while I do all of that fun stuff.”
