According to Colonel Niruchpol Yothamat, one of the animals approached the keeper, grabbed him from behind, and dragged him along the ground while biting him. Four others then arrived to imitate the first one.
Visitors who were at the zoo at the time of the attack tried to help the suspect by honking their vehicle horns to scare the lions away and prevent them from killing him.
However, the efforts of the people were not enough, so the incident continued for 15 minutes , until the personnel of the place managed to rescue the victim's body.
One of the workers revealed in an interview with a local media outlet that this is the first fatal accident to occur at Safari World Bangkok since its founding.
