Iñaki Glutamato, singer of the group Glutamato ye-yé, dies.

Singer Iñaki Glutamato (1961), singer of the group Glutamato ye-yé, icon of the Movida madrileña , died this Saturday at the age of 64 "after fighting an illness for several months."

"Today is sad news for our group. Sadly, today, May 10th, our Iñaki passed away early this morning after battling an illness for several months. Goodbye, Iñaki. You'll always be in our glutamic hearts," reports a group account on Instagram.

Iñaki Fernández was one of the founders, along with Ramón Recio, of the emblematic band Glutamato ye-yé in 1979 and a groundbreaking figure in the 1980s music scene, a decade in which he triumphed with the greatest hit "Todos los negritos tiene hambre y frío" (All the little black people are hungry and cold).

The pop of this band, author of songs like 'A Man in My Fridge' and 'Alicia', became very popular in the eighties through musical programs on RNE and TVE such as 'The Golden Age' and 'Rhythm Box'.

Officially, the band disappeared in 1986 , although in 2008 they returned to the stage in a concert broadcast on Radio 3, on the program 'Tresfusión', where they recalled the group's hits and paid tribute to the deceased members.
