El Fandi and Escribano, carried on shoulders amid the joy of Utrera

Today I make my debut in the king of print media in this country, and it couldn't be anywhere else but my wife's hometown, where my maternal grandmother was born and where I was married before the Virgin of Consolation, the Consolation of the Sevillian countryside and the reason why this major festival is being held today within the Utrera Fair and Festivals.
A great atmosphere at the Coso de la Muleta , welcoming the first bull, El Fandi , with three long exchanges and a series of veronicas. He performed with chicuelinas, a little faster than usual to bring the bull to the horse, which he finished with a varied pass. He shared banderillas with Escribano in a third of the bull's life that the stands enjoyed.
He received the bull on his knees with the muleta, performing long and with high passes. A bull that, despite its class and quality, lacked bravery and quickly gave up. In front of its nobility, the Granada native performed his work on the first line of the bullfight, leaving a good impression on the audience, especially on the right horn . He dispatched the bull with a low thrust after a warning and a descabello, cutting off two more than generous ears.
In the second of his lot, he once again excelled with the banderillas to the strains of "Suspiros de España" (Sighs of Spain) against a bull that was punished on the horse. He took it to the center of the ring and tried to take advantage of a stationary bull, giving it all the fun it could have . It gave up and finished the performance at the gate of the pens, cheered on by a joyful crowd. He killed it with a lightning-fast thrust. Two ears and a tail were awarded to a sympathetic crowd .

Escribano also received his first bull with a long exchange, and the large, deep Salamancan bull stopped at the veronica. A varied third of banderillas shared, with a final pair of perfectly executed banderillas by Escribano .
He tried his luck with both horns, delivering good passes against a bull that said little or nothing. The Gerena bull was far superior, dispatching him with a full thrust , cutting off two ears.

A beautiful verónica reception to the fifth bull of the afternoon, once again showing off his banderillas . He began the faena very calmly with statuesque passes, then moved on to a long bullfight on the right, leaving the black streak behind, which he could also have used naturally. He made a great approach, including a fish cartridge, before finishing with manoletinas. The crowd began to demand a pardon , with the bullfighter entertaining himself while looking at the box, killing the bull on the second attempt after slipping his sword on the bull's back during the first pass. The president performed well, withstanding the pressure from the crowd against a classy but tame bull. He cut two ears and a tail after a warning and a blue handkerchief.
Durán's reception with a lackluster cape , moving into a poor tercio de varas. Another deep bull, pure Murube, which he refused to let go without a chicueliana pass.
He offered the bull to maestro Paco Ojeda , a difficult bullfighter whom the Utrera native wanted to show the way. He showed determination, especially on the right horn, where he left something behind. A thrust made him guard. He had to use the descabellado on several occasions, after being warned. Applause and greetings from the third section.
The local bullfighter who closed the bullring, who offered his hometown a toast, also had no luck. He was determined to face an impossible bull. It's a shame that despite his good manners, the one who needed it most on the bill couldn't shine . Hopefully, they'll give this bullfighter more time to get back on track. He dispatched him with two stabs before a good sword thrust. Ear.
- Mulata Bullring. Friday, September 5, 2025. The bullring was just over half full on a hot afternoon. Bulls from Castilleja de Huebra (1, 3, 4, 5, 6) and José Manuel Sánchez (2) were fought. The corrida was uneven but well-presented overall, with a pure Murube-Urquijo combination. It was a noble bullfight, tame overall, and lacking depth. The first bull stood out for its more class, as did the fifth, which was given a lap of the ring.
- The Fandi. Aquamarine and gold. Very low thrust (two ears after warning); powerful upward thrust (two ears and tail). It comes out on shoulders.
- Manuel Escribano. Royal blue and gold. Full thrust (two ears); high thrust after a slip in the back (two ears and tail after a warning). Exit on shoulders.
- Curro Duran. Green hope and gold. A stab that stood guard and several wild passes (greetings after a warning); two punctures and a good stab (ear).
