Astrid Fenollar, member of the children's group Regaliz and actress of 'Good Night, Mr. Monster,' dies at 55.

Actress Astrid Fenollar , known as a member of the children's group Regaliz and remembered for her role in the film "Good Night, Mr. Monster," died this week at the age of 55 from cancer . This was announced a few days agoby Jorge Lérida , a children's music expert and author of the book "The Fabulous World of Children's Songs."

The singer, who had been affected by this disease for some time, had been away from television for a while. Having lived in Menorca for some time, she had been working for several years with people with intellectual and physical disabilities in a senior residence, where music was also a feature.

We last saw her on television on the RTVE program "The Best Years of Our Lives." There, she spoke with Carlos Sobera about her professional career when she was just a child, and she stated that she felt like "no time had passed": "It was like a game, we had a great time."

From the success of Regaliz to moving away from music

Astrid entered the music world thanks to her father, Salvador Fenollar , an employee of the Belter record label . He tasked her with forming a new Parcheesi -style children's band to follow in the Spanish band's footsteps.

Thus, the little girl joined Eva Mariol, Eduardo Navarrete, and Jaime Bonet to form the group Regaliz, which was active for three years.

From 1980 to 1983, the group released six albums and appeared in two films, not to mention the success they achieved thanks to the memorable film 'Goodnight, Mr. Monster' . They also recorded the theme song for the British series 'William the Menace' , as well as other iconic songs such as 'Spiderman', 'The Champion Disc Jockey', 'Don't Stop the Music', and 'Goodnight, Mr. Monster'.

Just a short time later and despite the success they achieved, the record company decided to fire Salvador Fenollar, bringing about the sudden end of Regaliz in 1983 at the height of its fame.

After that, Astrid Fenollar studied pantomime and continued her career in television with small roles on regional channels and in commercials. She also appeared in Jaume Balagueró's horror feature film "Darkness."
