Will she succeed in stopping the tariffs? Sheinbaum runs through the 10:00 AM morning press conference with Trump.

President Claudia Sheinbaum is changing the schedule of her morning press conference this Thursday, July 31. It will be held at 10:00 a.m., due to her call with President Donald Trump regarding tariffs on Mexico .
Through her social media accounts, the president announced that the conference will be scheduled for this Thursday; however, she did not specify whether she will make any announcements regarding the negotiations with President Trump .
In recent months, Sheinbaum did the same and immediately announced the tariff pause reached with the United States government. This time, they are targeting a general tariff of 30 percent, which they hope to reverse.
What do we know about Claudia Sheinbaum's call with Donald Trump? The call between Claudia Sheinbaum and Donald Trump is scheduled for the morning of Thursday, July 31.
At the meeting, the two leaders are expected to discuss a trade agreement, prior to the tariffs taking effect this Friday, August 1.
Analysts expect the call to include proposals from Mexico to reduce the U.S. trade deficit.
Additionally, throughout the day, meetings between Claudia Sheinbaum's team and the United States ambassador to Mexico, Ronald "Ron" Johnson, have been reported at the National Palace.
According to Bloomberg, talks have been held in recent weeks between the Mexican team and the U.S. Cabinet to reach an agreement; however, people familiar with the process said decisions must be made at the leadership level, hence the importance of the call between the two countries.
Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economy , declared earlier this week that Mexico had already done what it had to do, and that the decision rested with President Trump, although he remained optimistic.
"Everything Mexico had to do is done, now we have to wait," Ebrard told the media.
