Demanding judges
We're told that some elected judges have already appeared in courts and tribunals, even though they don't even have official appointments yet. Those interested have even arrived at the courts with their entourages to take possession of something that doesn't yet belong to them ... Let's hope that, just as they're demanding , they're also taking their induction course . Is that true?
There will be an invitation
It will be from September 13th, and not until September 15th, that President Claudia Sheinbaum will share the stage with the heads of the Judicial and Legislative branches during the ceremony commemorating the Day of the Child Heroes and the Battle of Chapultepec Castle. The president of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies, Kenia López, a member of the National Action Party (PAN), will also be present at the Republican event. Therefore, the president of the Executive Branch stated that everyone is invited and " if they want to attend, they will attend ; and if not, they won't attend." Will that be true?
Consolation prize?
Regarding the third vice-coordination created within Morena for Representative Dolores Padierna, some question whether it was a consolation prize or a way to relegate legislator Gabriela Jiménez in some other way. We're told they've tried to remove her four times , and according to the internal regulations of the Morena parliamentary group, another vice-coordination is not contemplated... Let's hope the minor arrangements made by the majority leader to maintain peace and "unity" aren't counterproductive. Will they be?
Leaders without merit
And if not, just check the social media accounts of the Morena leaders, as well as those of the party itself, not to mention those of their inner circle— Andy included— who navigate between clinging to AMLO daily and boasting about the President's popularity because, beyond that, Luisa María Alcalde and Morena don't boast a single merit of their own . Is that so?
“50% limit” revoked
The Administrative Court of Mexico City issued the first ruling granting definitive protection to a "host" against the restrictions imposed by the Tourism Law reformed by the previous Mexico City administration of President Martí Batres. Specifically, we are talking about the 50% occupancy limit for temporary tourist accommodation services, which the judges who ruled on the case described as a discriminatory measure that unfairly penalizes platform hosts, limiting their freedom of trade. We are told that a wave of injunctions in this regard is imminent and that small property owners could be one step away from overturning the reform. Could this be the case?
The “bad deal” with FIFA
We've received confirmation that in the case of the stadium seats at the former Azteca Stadium for the 2026 World Cup matches, the big loser ended up being Carlos Hank's Banorte. This is because the bank will essentially end up covering FIFA's onerous rights to those spaces, in order to avoid the lengthy litigation its owners promised for major local events. They say a bad settlement is better than a good fight; but other companies involved in the process didn't think the same. Could that be true?
