From the Spanish shores, an entrepreneurial initiative has emerged that has captured the attention of surf lovers. FlySurf, the startup that began as an almost personal project, has established itself as a purpose-driven brand , aimed at those who want to get started in the world of surfing without barriers or complexities. Today, in collaboration with Banco Santander , Flysurf is preparing to cross borders and conquer new markets.

“FlySurf was born from a personal love for the sea and nature,” explains Víctor Antona, CEO and founder of the company. Passionate about sports, travel, and, of course, surfing, he decided to launch a program to help students take their first steps in the sport. “We're very focused on learning to surf,” he says. His goal: to make the sport accessible to everyone, especially those who don't yet feel confident enough to take to the water without support.

The international leap wasn't a random idea. After establishing itself in several Spanish cities, SmartFit conducted an in-depth study of Latin American markets, detecting an opportunity: high rates of young population, growing health awareness, and a limited supply of modern gyms at reasonable prices. Thus, they first landed in Mexico, and later expanded to a total of 14 Latin American countries.

Flysurf is structured around a dual sales model : on the one hand, the B2C channel, where they sell directly online, with a special focus on Spain and Portugal; on the other, the B2B channel, focused on specialty stores and surf schools. Sixty percent of sales come from the online channel, while the remaining 40% are managed through professional agreements . This balance has allowed them to grow quickly yet in a controlled manner.

The key, according to Víctor Antona, lies in having validated a model that has proven useful and attractive to an increasingly broad audience. "We've seen that this model was viable and that people have embraced it fairly quickly," says the entrepreneur, convinced that the time has come to take the international leap.

With its sights set on markets like France, Italy, and Germany, Flysurf is committed to expansion based on authenticity. “The digital world allows you to scale communication without relying on third parties, without losing the essence of what you're building.” That essence, linked to freedom, connection with nature, and a healthy lifestyle, is what has made Flysurf much more than a brand.

The founder's relationship with Banco Santander is not new. "First, I was a personal customer, then I worked for the bank for several years, and now I use it as a financial partner," he explains. In this new phase as an entrepreneur, Banco Santander's support has been key in giving Flysurf the necessary strength to scale operations.

Support isn't limited to the national level. In a context where Flysurf plans to expand into Latin America and the United States, having a bank with international reach that offers guarantees and coverage for cross-border transactions is essential. "For us, it's essential that it provides peace of mind, both for us and our clients," he says.
