The remains of Jaime Alanís, who died in a raid, are now in Mexico.

The remains of Jaime Alanís , a Mexican man who died in a raid by U.S. immigration authorities, returned to Mexico yesterday.
The remains of the compatriot left the United States and are now in our country," reported the head of the North American Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Roberto Velasco Álvarez.
Alanís was a farmworker originally from Huajúmburo, Michoacán. He died on July 10 after falling from a 30-foot building during a raid in Ventura, California.
Last Monday, Vanessa Calva Ruiz, Director General of Consular Protection and Strategic Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and staff from the Mexican Consulate in Oxnard, represented the Mexican government at the funeral services in the town.
According to information provided by his neighbors, Jaime left the United States more than ten years ago to seek better employment and better economic conditions for his family.
"People see me walking around like nothing's happening. But what can we do? If I had papers, I would have gone looking for him to bring him back, but I don't," Jaime's father, José Alanís, told Excélsior last week.
The remains arrived in Guadalajara and are being transported by a funeral home to Huajúmbaro, Michoacán, for proper delivery to his wife and daughter.
