The bulls from the Cádiz-based La Palmosilla ranch put on a fast and dangerous run, leading from the opening stages and knocking down numerous runners, leaving at least two runners gored.
Since the race fell on a Sunday, it was a crowded race, which meant there was very little space and the bulls ran over many runners , with particularly difficult moments in Santo Domingo , on the curve between Mercaderes and Estafeta, and at the entrance to the alley. Even so, they completed the course in under two and a half minutes, and a report of injuries showed eight people were treated, six of whom were taken to the University Hospital of Navarra.
Five black bulls and one red bull formed a herd that left the corrals together , with a tame bull leading the way, although as soon as they made contact with the runners at the San Fermín niche , a black bull overtook its brothers.
This black bull forced the runners to move at full speed to avoid being caught by an animal that was already several meters taller than the rest of the herd. On the Santo Domingo slope itself, near the Plaza de Santiago, one of the most tense moments occurred when the black bull lifted a runner into the air, causing the animal to fall, and the rest of the group to catch up with it.

The bull, although initially staring at the runner, made no attempt to charge at him and continued toward the Plaza Consistorial . This section was completed with three bulls leading the group , without incident.
The bulls that opened the race hooked a young man who was perched on the left fence at the bend between Mercaderes and Estafeta. One of them dragged him toward the herd, leaving him trapped for a moment between two bulls. It was another of the most delicate moments of the race.

The stretched herd ran through the crush of people lining Estafeta Street . The young men couldn't make long runs, as there was always someone in front of them, preventing them from staying in the bull's face. The bulls charged forward, sometimes trampling anyone who slipped into the group.
Once at Telefónica , and especially on the way down to the alley, the large crowd on the sides caused the bulls to take down anyone who was lingering at the fence on the right side. It was impossible to escape, as many were standing still when the bull came charging.
The noble behavior of the animals prevented further damage to the area. In the bullring , unlike what happened this Saturday, but also last year with this ranch, the bulls entered the corral without delay. In the afternoon, they will be fought by Fortes, F. Adrián, and Ginés Marín in the penultimate bullfight of the Feria.
