Sánchez and Begoña Gómez's protocol mess: first they leave without a photo and then they don't know where to stand.

One of the anecdotes that is already being talked about at the official dinner presided over by the King and Queen of Spain, Felipe VI and Queen Letizia , has to do with the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, who, when it came to being named alongside his wife, Begoña Gómez, missed the mark when it came to placing himself between the monarchs in the enclave of the Real Alcázar located for the photograph after the greeting that takes place in these events. He had also previously made a mistake in his first appointment, since both he and his wife passed by without the obligatory photo, unlike the rest of the attendees, although they later returned.

On that second occasion, both Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were informed that the next to arrive was the president of the government with his wife. Sánchez greeted the hosts and tried to position himself in the photo, but instead of placing himself between King Felipe VI and Letizia, Sánchez remained to the right of the former, leaving the photo between Begoña, Sánchez and the King and Queen, but in these circumstances protocol dictates that couples must mingle.

The protocol department at the Alcázar urged Sánchez to properly position himself in the formal image that all heads of state and government have been wearing on Sunday evening. The Prime Minister responded to this request, quickly taking his expected position, thus forming the photo with Begoña Gómez, Felipe VI, Pedro Sánchez, and Queen Letizia. The four then held a long conversation before continuing with the routine of receptions.
