Nissan plans to cease operations at two of its assembly plants in Mexico as part of its global restructuring plan, "Re:Nissan," according to specialized media outlet AutoNews, which cited sources close to the Japanese automaker.
The affected facilities would be the Civac plant, located in Cuernavaca, Morelos, and the Compas factory, in Aguascalientes, which is in partnership with Mercedes-Benz.

In a statement yesterday, the company indicated that it is reviewing the integration and closure of some of its global production plants.
However, the process has not yet been completed, except for three plants whose closure was previously announced: two in Japan and one in Argentina.
"Nissan is committed to maintaining transparency with all stakeholders, and if any decision is made, it will be communicated promptly," he told REFORMA.
According to sources, Civac would continue operating until March 2027 and Compas until early 2026.
Both plants are focused on assembling vehicles aimed largely at the U.S. market.
