Marta Carazo will be Queen Letizia's new head of the Secretariat after leaving the TVE news program.

Journalist Marta Carazo , who until Friday hosted the second edition of the Telediario on La 1, will be the new head of Queen Letizia 's Secretariat starting September 1, replacing María Ocaña, according to sources at the Royal Household.
Carazo presented the second edition of the Telediario for the last time this Friday after informing RTVE's News management of his decision to leave the corporation to pursue a new professional project. RTVE expressed his gratitude for his commitment to RTVE News Services and his "tireless" work over the years.
In recent months, Marta Carazo, in addition to presenting the news program, has starred in specials such as those on the death of the Pope and the conclave from Rome, as well as the power outage, during which the news services broadcast the second-longest special in RTVE's history.
The journalist debuted on January 15, 2024, as presenter of the second edition of Telediario, after returning to Torrespaña after three years as TVE's correspondent in Brussels.
A graduate in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid, she has a 25-year career with the Corporation . In 1999, she began her professional career at Canal 24 Horas as a news anchor (1999-2007) and director and presenter of the programs Casa de América and A Fondo (2006-2009). In 2009, she joined Telediario to cover the Royal Household.
In 2012, she moved to the Economics department, where she was responsible from 2018 to 2019. She also served as presenter and co-director of the program Europa 2020 (2019 to 2020) and as assistant editor of Telediario 1 (2020). She has also received the prestigious Salvador de Madariaga European Journalism Award in the Television category.

Ocaña's departure was a personal decision motivated by unforeseen personal and family reasons, sources at Zarzuela explained.
Ocaña took office at the end of April 2024, replacing José Manuel Zuleta and Alejandro, Duke of Abrantes, who had served as head of Queen Letizia's Secretariat since June 2014, when Don Felipe ascended to the throne.
After leaving the Royal Household, sources have stated, Ocaña, who was Undersecretary of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food between 2018 and 2020, plans to rejoin the State Attorney's Office , a body she joined in 2003.
