Majadahonda experiences medieval magic this weekend: more than 100 craft stalls, traditional workshops, and children's games.

Majadahonda is preparing to host its 2025 Medieval Market , one of the most anticipated events during the patron saint festivities . For three days, Gran Vía Street and the town's squares will be transformed into a stage where crafts, music, and cuisine will evoke a journey into the past.

What began years ago as a complementary activity has become a staple in the local festival calendar . From September 18th to 20th , residents and visitors will be able to enjoy more than a hundred stalls, demonstration workshops, and a children's corner that will transform the city into a true medieval village.

More than one hundred stalls and thematic workshops

The offering includes crafts, food, and displays of ancient trades such as stonemasonry, glassblowing, calligraphy, leatherwork, and woodworking . There will also be interactive activities, storytelling , entertainment shows, and live music. The medieval inn offers grilled meats in a Medieval-inspired setting.

One of the most notable new features will be the free nursery for children , which is added to the children's corner program and will allow families to enjoy the tour more comfortably. Last year , exhibitions on swords, siege engines, historical coins, and medieval footwear were held, and pending the final program, the City Council expects to maintain similar offerings. All of this seeks to bring visitors closer to the customs of a time when markets were a social and cultural meeting point.

Medieval Market Hours

The event will kick off with an opening speech in the Plaza Mayor on Thursday, September 18th at 12:00 p.m. The event will then continue throughout the weekend at the following times and locations:

Medieval Market (Gran Vía Street):

• Thursday 18th : from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
• Friday 19th : from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• Saturday 20 : from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Children's Corner (Plaza de los Jardinillos):

• Thursday 18th : from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
• Friday 19th : from 5:30pm to 9:30pm
• Saturday 20th : from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

To facilitate travel, the City Council has launched a free tourist train that will connect various points in Majadahonda with the market, including Francisco Umbral Street , Avenida de España , the La Bolsa shopping center , and Cerro del Espino . Schedules will vary depending on the day, with departures every hour. The service will operate as follows:

• Thursday, September 18 : from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Friday, September 19 : from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• Saturday, September 20 : from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 18:00 to 00:00

This service will allow visitors to easily access the medieval complex , while enjoying a stroll through the town's most iconic streets. The Majadahonda Medieval Market is held in the heart of the town, making it easy to reach by various means of transport. Those who opt for public transport can take the Renfe Cercanías (lines C-7 and C-10 ), which connect the town with Madrid in about 25 minutes. There are also intercity buses (627, 651, 652, 653, 654, 655, and 659) from Moncloa and other points in the capital, with stops near Gran Vía.

For those who prefer to arrive by private car , the town has several parking areas, including the Gran Vía de Majadahonda Parking , located very close to the market. This parking lot offers a special rate of €1.99 for 12 hours , valid from September 8 to 30 , provided a 20-parking pass is purchased, representing a 50% discount on the regular rate .

In addition, the initiative includes a 30% discount on electric car charging for those who purchase a Multipass pass, applicable until December 31 at all Telpark-managed parking lots in Spain .

Patron saint festivities and complementary activities

The Medieval Market is part of the program of festivities in honor of the Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios , which will extend until September 21. The agenda includes bull runs, tapas competitions , concerts by artists such as Rozalén or Coque Malla , the performance of the Maxims orchestra , as well as children's activities and fireworks shows.

Saturday will feature live music and street entertainment, while Sunday, the final day of the festivities , will feature a wine tasting , children's activities, a special Inazio concert, and a popular caldereta (stew) before the fireworks display .
