In Europe's most gender-biased country, Latvian women are reinventing romance while men are enjoying an unprecedented "singles market."

Latvia has the most unequal ratio in the EU: 54% women vs. 46% men , a figure that worsens in the 30-40 age group (60% women). This imbalance has created a society where couple dynamics are being reimagined .

"Women here need to be more proactive in romance. Waiting for a man to take the initiative is a luxury we can't afford," confesses Anna, a designer from Riga.
