It's going to make us cry: Foreigner reveals he's no longer wanted after anti-gentrification marches

Friendly Capital.- A foreign couple publicly complained that they are no longer being welcomed "with the same warmth" in Mexico City, following the recent anti-gentrification marches. So, watch this heartbreaking story... with subtitles.
The complaint was filed by a YouTube couple known as Mateo and Lissana, who stated that, despite having lived in Mexico for "a very long time" (two and a half years), they now perceive a certain rejection from the capital's residents, just after the demonstrations in defense of urban space.
That they are not to blame for gentrificationWell yes, it is full of artists.
Prenzaluer is probably the epitome of gentrification in this city.
It went from being a neighborhood abandoned to its fate…to having the most expensive rents in the city, thanks to its social life and the renovation of its houses.

“We never imagined that wanting to share what we love about Mexico could be interpreted as a threat to the community,” explains Lissana while filming a tour of the Roma Norte neighborhood, showing matcha cafes, gluten-free bread, and signature tacos.
In their broadcast, the influencers describe the area's charms, but deny that their presence is related to rising prices or the displacement of residents:
“They tell us we're displacing the locals, that our presence is making the area more expensive… but that was already the case when we arrived,” says Mateo, with a barely disguised neutral Spanish accent.
Although at one point in the video they attempt to show empathy for the affected residents, they never show any signs of wanting to return to their countries. Rather, they emphasize that they "love Mexico" and that their intention is to "share their culture," while promoting a new "mezcal meditation" workshop from a rooftop garden in Condesa.
And just in case you missed it: a group of influencers formed a union to demand that they be “taken seriously.”eldeforma
