According to Egyptian media, once there, the minor beat his companion to death with a stick and then used a saw belonging to his father—who works as a carpenter—to dismember the body.
Youssef Ayman himself admitted to authorities that he committed the crime because he wanted to "prove what he had seen on the internet."
How would the crime have been carried out? Investigative authorities indicated that the 13-year-old minor allegedly committed the crime after watching violent content , specifically a horror movie, days before the incident.
The murder occurred after the two classmates got into an argument. After killing his friend, Youssef Ayman cut the body into small pieces so he could stuff them into the suitcase he usually carried to school.

Egyptian media outlet Sky News Arabia reported that the minor's plan was carried out throughout that day. After placing the victim's remains in his suitcase , he dumped them in various locations near a shopping mall.
After learning what had happened, the police asked the teenager to recreate the crime scene in the apartment where he lived with his family.
How did the crime become known? Egyptian media outlet Youm7 reported that security services in the Ismailia Governorate became aware of the incident after receiving several calls from citizens reporting the discovery of human remains near a commercial area.
After receiving the reports, authorities arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area in order to gather the necessary evidence and determine the identity of the person responsible for the gruesome crime.
Hours later, investigators were able to identify the victim, a child who had been reported missing by his family.

According to neighbors of the suspect, the boy was known for having a calm and passive demeanor ; however, in recent weeks they had noticed some changes in his behavior.
" He was quiet and had his phone on all day," said one person, who said the boy spent a lot of time on his phone since his parents separated and his mother remarried, this time to one of his uncles.
The same source added that when the minor was asked why he had committed the crime, he replied that "he did exactly what he saw in the movies."
After learning of the facts, the Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the accused's 15-day detention while the relevant investigations are conducted. The agency also decided to refer the minor for an evaluation of his psychological and mental state.
