FIME receives accreditation of thirteen CIEES educational programs

For its academic innovation and social relevance, the Autonomous University of Nuevo León received accreditation for 13 educational programs from the Interinstitutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CIEES).
The seal of distinction was awarded to projects created at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (FIME), representing eight undergraduate and five graduate programs. This makes it the engineering institution with the highest national standing.
During his address, UANL Rector Santos Guzmán López made it clear that the continuous work of the university community resulted in this recognition and that every program born in the classroom must be evaluated to ensure its competitiveness.
“This faculty has always been distinguished by its academic leadership and close ties to the labor and research sectors. We have now accredited 100% of our undergraduate programs and 80% of our graduate programs. In this way, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring optimal performance, as it demonstrates our commitment to education,” said Santos Guzmán López, Rector of the UANL.
The general coordinator of the CIEES, Miguel Ángel Tamayo Taype, emphasized that thanks to the accreditations held by the State's Highest Educational Institution, graduates are distinguished by exemplary training in various productive sectors.
"These accreditations represent the effort to do things with passion and vision. It's essential that programs be updated with the help of experts so we have successful students and future professionals who are up to the task our country demands," he stated.
For his part, FIME Director Arnulfo Treviño Cubero praised the joint achievement, noting that they strive daily to offer innovative programs that are in line with current engineering trends.
"This achievement is thanks to everyone's efforts, and I firmly believe that this evaluation project demonstrates that the institution produces the best engineers. Furthermore, we are proud of their contributions to society," said Arnulfo Treviño Cubero, Director of FIME.
Following messages from university authorities and the evaluating body, certificates were presented to the coordinators responsible for each of the programs at the FIME Sports Center.
