Díaz Mena denounces the PAN's "political opportunism" in the fight against dengue fever in Yucatán.

Yucatán Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena accused the National Action Party (PAN) of "political opportunism" and of staging a "spectacle" over the dengue fever issue in the state, discrediting his government's actions on the matter, even though the results speak for themselves.
Díaz Mena pointed out that the PAN (National Action Party) in Yucatán attempted to present the massive dengue fumigation operation organized by his administration as an improvised response to their demands, when in reality, the operation had been planned in advance and had reduced dengue cases by 43% thanks to the removal of junk and prior measures, which was undoubtedly a benefit to the population and a testament to his government's actions.
During his press conference, Díaz Mena criticized the PAN for using what he called "political opportunism" to question his government's actions, even though they are being implemented in accordance with the State Development Plan.
The local leader made it clear that an intervention of this type requires specialized personnel, equipment, certified chemicals, and coordination between state and municipal agencies.
"When they presented the operation, they came out and said it was because they asked for it. That's enormous cynicism, total political opportunism. It's a spectacle to keep the wounds breathing," he said.
The governor affirmed that his administration has maintained constant work to reduce the impact of dengue fever in Yucatán, through preventive campaigns such as junk removal and epidemiological surveillance since before the peak season for the population.
