A Spaniard living in Dubai, clear about the security in this city of the United Arab Emirates

The idea of the perfect place in the world is very subjective and depends on each individual's priorities or needs when visiting another place. What is ideal for one person may not be ideal for another for a variety of reasons. The advantages of a city or country may be offset by its shortcomings, or vice versa .

When choosing a destination to settle in , a multitude of factors come into play, ranging from the cost of living to safety, as well as other issues that can negatively (or positively) influence adaptation to a new reality, such as the climate, language, gastronomy, and whether or not it is a congested place.

Some of these factors can lead to significant culture shock , depending on where a person comes from. That's more or less what Alex Huertas , a Spanish businessman living in Dubai , one of the main cities in the United Arab Emirates, experienced in his own right.

Alex Huertas's comment on security in Dubai

Alex Huertas used his Instagram account to share various aspects of daily life in Dubai. The one he elaborated on the most was security.

The experience in this country is unmatched by any other country in the world . Security at all levels, no matter where you are, the time of day, or what you're carrying. You can leave your things anywhere and know that you can leave, come back, make a call, or buy anything in a store and your things will still be there. Absolutely no one will touch anything that isn't theirs. It's incredible, and I recommend you come to Dubai and experience it. Leave your phone on a table in a restaurant, walk away for 15 minutes, and it will still be there when you come back,” he says.

Their opinion is backed up by the data. According to Numbeo's Mid-2025 Safety Index, the UAE earned a high safety score (85.24 points) , boasting a very low crime rate that places it among the safest countries in the world, on par with countries like Qatar and Andorra.

Beyond security, this Spanish entrepreneur says another advantage is "the ease with everything that happens." He's referring to its technological development. " Through various apps, we have access to absolutely everything : gas delivered to your home, massages delivered to your home, if you want a meal, they come to your home... As for deliveries, they deliver 24 hours a day from Monday to Sunday. This is convenient for people who work long hours and sometimes need things at odd hours."

The final point in Dubai's favor, in his opinion, is "the people." " All the people you meet in this country are educated because they work for large companies or are entrepreneurs. Therefore, the relationships you can build in the Emirates are not comparable to those in Spain or Europe," he asserts, before addressing one last, and by no means trivial, point. "I think paying 0% taxes also helps us realize that we're living in the best city in the world right now."
