"I saved him from death": Trump prevented final attack on Iran's supreme leader

President Donald Trump reacted on social media to the Iranian attack on the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, declaring that Iran "lied" when it claimed to have won the war against Israel.
The Iranian offensive was in response to the devastating US bombing of June 23 and 24, which, according to Pentagon sources, destroyed key nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, setting back the atomic program for years.
Trump stopped massive attack on IranIn a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran was "decimated," with a collapsed economy and a military inoperable. He revealed that he knew the whereabouts of Ayatollah Khamenei and prevented his execution by ordering a halt to a massive Israeli attack on Tehran.
“I knew exactly where he was hiding , and I didn't allow Israel or the U.S. military—by far the largest and most powerful in the world—to end his life. I saved him from a very ugly and ignominious death! And you don't have to say thank you, President Trump,” he said.
He also stated that he had worked to lift sanctions to facilitate Iran's recovery, but canceled that effort following Khamenei's hostile statements. Finally, he urged the Iranian regime to rejoin the world order and "leave hostility behind," warning that otherwise, "everything will get worse."
President Donald Trump ordered precision airstrikes against key Iranian nuclear facilities , including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, between June 23 and 24, 2025. According to U.S., Israeli, and IAEA officials, the actions destroyed critical infrastructure, setting back Iran's nuclear program by years.
However, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also publicly acknowledged his victory after attacking the US airbase at Al-Udeid in Qatar. "The Iranian nation is victorious and will remain victorious by the grace of God," he wrote in X.
