Victory against Louisville: Burkardt scores first Eintracht goal

Eintracht Frankfurt secured a convincing friendly victory against hosts Louisville City on their trip to the USA. New signing Jonathan Burkardt scored his first goal for the Hesse club in what was only a decisive 5-2 (1-0) victory at the end. The striker, who joined from local rivals Mainz 05 for approximately €23 million, made it 2-2 in the 68th minute – and later set up another goal.
In addition to Burkardt, Elias Baum (36th minute), US talent Marvin Dills (70th minute), and Niels Nkounkou (76th minute and 89th minute) also scored in the closing stages. For coach Dino Toppmöller's team, the first leg of their USA tour in Louisville concluded with the friendly at Lynn Family Stadium.
On Wednesday against Philadelphia UnionThis Wednesday, Eintracht Frankfurt travels to Philadelphia for another friendly against the local MLS club. Board spokesman Axel Hellmann is satisfied with the progress of the preparations so far. "We're facing a Champions League season, everyone has the ambition to play and wants to be on board. This is something big for the club and is casting its shadow," Hellmann said in a media briefing.
While Eintracht Frankfurt will play another warm-up match against FC Fulham on August 9th, the first competitive match of the new season will take place eight days later when the Hessian team faces top-flight club FV Engers in the DFB Cup.
