The Tour de France has been one of the world's greatest sporting events for over 100 years. For three weeks, from July 5 to 27, 2025, the best professional cyclists will battle it out on the roads of France for stage wins, jerseys, and the overall victory.

From flat sprint stages to tough mountain stages in the Alps and Pyrenees, the race demands everything from the riders – endurance, tactics and nerves of steel are required.

This year's Tour also promises to be exciting in sporting terms: Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel are some of the strongest riders of recent years battling for the yellow jersey.

On Thursday, July 24 , the professionals will travel from Vizille to Courchevel .

  • The 18th stage covers 171.5 km .

The broadcast will be on Eurosport and ARD as well as livestreamed on sportschau.de , in the ARD media library , on discovery+ and DAZN .

The 18th stage starts at 1:35 p.m. in Vizille . ARD will broadcast the race on free TV starting at 2:10 p.m.

A total of 21 stages are on the program: seven flat stages, six stages in hilly terrain, six mountain stages with five mountain finishes in Hautacam, Luchon-Superbagnères, Mont Ventoux, Courchevel Col de la Loze and La Plagne Tarentaise, as well as two time trials and rest days each.

The Tour de France will be broadcast extensively on TV and live streams in 2025. In Germany, ARD and Eurosport will show the stages live.

Discovery+ and DAZN also offer a live stream with additional camera perspectives.

The total route of the 2025 Tour de France covers approximately 3,338.8 kilometers . The exact distance varies slightly each year, depending on the route and stage planning.

This year, for the first time, the route runs exclusively through France, crossing 11 regions and 34 departments.
