Rasmus Kristensen suffered a muscle injury in Friday evening's Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen ( 1:3 ) and will therefore be unavailable to Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Dino Toppmöller "until further notice." The club from Hesse announced this on Sunday afternoon. The club has not revealed exactly how long Kristensen will be out.
After the 28-year-old full-back underwent treatment on his thigh, Nathaniel Brown came on in the tenth minute. The 22-year-old, who put in a generally lackluster performance in Leverkusen, is now looking forward to his first Champions League appearance when Frankfurt host Galatasaray Istanbul in their opening game on Thursday (9 p.m.).
Unlike Brown, Kristensen has already made 20 appearances in the Champions League during his career. He made eleven Europa League appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt last season. In the still-young Bundesliga season, the 30-time Danish international was in the starting lineup in all three matches.
