Hoeneß's successorHainer took over the position from Uli Hoeneß at the 2019 Annual General Meeting and was re-elected three years later. He faced no opposing candidates in each of these two positions. The president of the main club is also chairman of the powerful supervisory board of FC Bayern Munich AG, whose members include Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Hainer has been a member of this board since 2002.
