Football: Modric moves to AC Milan

Croatia's record international player, Luka Modric, has found a new employer after leaving Real Madrid . The 39-year-old midfielder will play for AC Milan in the Italian Serie A next season. According to the club, Modric signed a one-year contract with an option to extend until 2027.

The six-time Champions League winner was denied a new contract at Real Madrid after 13 years. The Croatian national team captain's final game for Madrid was in the 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinals of the Club World Cup in the USA. Modric will wear the number 14 on his AC Milan jersey. "I'm very happy to be here to start a new chapter in my career," Modric said on his social media channel.
