The exact nature of his illness was not disclosed, but the club praised the youngster for his unwavering courage: Despite health setbacks, Bucher pursued his path "with impressive strength, courage, and hope."
The talented midfielder was part of FCL's U18 team and was highly valued by coaches and teammates – both as a player and as a person. In a moving obituary, the club describes him as a "loving, humble" young man with a consistently "positive charisma."
"Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. The FCL family will remember Nando with love," the club concluded.

Lucas Ferreira mourned Bucher's death on Instagram. He dedicated his debut Super League goal to him and added the line "Fly high, angel."
