"Following numerous discussions in recent days and weeks, the club's management, including Thomas Oelmayer and Alexander Schöllhorn, as well as the chairman of the supervisory board, Uli Eitle and Dominik Schwärzel, came to the decision to end the cooperation," according to a club statement published on Monday evening.
The relegated second-division side is in deep crisis, currently sitting in a relegation spot in the third division with 16 points after 14 matchdays. The situation at the Swabian club was so tense that goalkeeper Christian Ortag and defender Johannes Reichert addressed the supervisory board in a letter over the weekend, using clear and unambiguous language. "Act now, before it's too late," was their unequivocal demand for immediate personnel changes following the 0-5 home defeat against Hansa Rostock , the fifth consecutive league loss for coach Moritz Glasbrenner 's team.
Initially, the board published a letter in response , emphasizing that they were "very aware of the current sporting and internal club situation" and explaining that there had already been "intense discussions and challenging developments" in recent weeks. At the same time, they also expressed regret that "confidential information had recently been leaked, causing additional unrest."

Regarding Thiele's departure, the club wrote that "the discussions were conducted in an open and respectful manner," but that they no longer led to "the unity and mutual trust necessary for a successful sporting future." The consequence: "Both sides agreed this evening to an amicable and fair separation."
In addition to Thiele, Ulm are also parting ways with head coach Moritz Glasbrenner and assistant coach Max Kohlenberg, both of whom have been relieved of their duties. "The club will provide further information regarding the next steps and their successors in the coming days."
