FIFA allows fans to buy World Cup tickets only with a specific credit card

The next FIFA World Cup will take place in North America next summer. Following the expensive VIP packages, the first regular tickets will go on sale in September – for fans with the right payment card.
Starting September 10, fans can apply for the first regular tickets to the next FIFA World Cup . In the initial phase, however, interested parties will need a Visa card, according to FIFA. The payment card provider, a sponsor of the world governing body, has secured exclusive rights to this.
Ticket purchases using other payment methods will only be possible in the following phases – the association plans to announce exactly when these will begin in September.
Those who win the lottery can then purchase their reserved tickets within a deadline in October. Packages, such as combo tickets for the Club World Championship and the World Championship, had already gone on sale after demand for the team tournament was sluggish. VIP packages are also already available. The starting price is $1,350 per person – the equivalent of approximately €1,200.
FIFA has yet to reveal how much the regular ticket prices will cost. According to a report in the British newspaper "The Times" from May, World Cup ticket prices will be dynamically adjusted to demand. This practice is common in the US but is considered controversial. During the comeback tour of the British band Oasis, ticket prices sometimes doubled as a result. The association did not confirm the plans to The Times.
