This technology reduces bills by up to 30 percent. It also protects the environment
  • The results can be impressive: savings of 25–30 percent in heating and cooling.
  • - We know that this trend will not reverse. Energy will become more expensive, and companies, willingly or unwillingly, will have to look for savings - explains Rafał Bonter, Managing Director at Assa Abloy Group, whom we spoke to during the 17th European Economic Congress .
  • Although the benefits seem obvious, not every organization is able to effectively implement such solutions.

In the face of rising energy costs, industrial companies are looking for solutions that will allow them to reduce their expenses without compromising quality or efficiency. They are increasingly reaching for data - not as a random addition, but as a key tool for making good, strategic decisions.

- When energy prices are clearly going up, the topic of cost optimization falls on fertile ground - says Rafał Bonter, Managing Director at Assa Abloy Group, in an interview with WNP.

- The question is asked more and more often: can we optimize based on data? The answer is yes. As a society and as an industry, we have huge amounts of data at our disposal today. The challenge is not to have it - but to learn how to use it effectively - emphasizes our interlocutor.

Assa Abloy, one of the world leaders in access control solutions, is increasingly involved in projects that combine security, efficiency and sustainable development. The company offers advanced data analysis systems that allow for monitoring and managing energy consumption in real time - both in modern office buildings and industrial spaces.

The results can be impressive: savings of 25–30 percent in heating and cooling are no longer a theory, but a practice , confirmed by specific implementations.

Not only technology - above all people

- We know that this trend will not reverse. Energy will become more expensive, and companies, willingly or unwillingly, will have to look for savings. That is why we have prepared solutions that provide real financial benefits, while allowing us to act more responsibly towards the environment - explains Bonter.

While the benefits seem obvious, not every organization can effectively implement such solutions. From Assa Abloy's perspective, the biggest challenge is not the technology, but the human factor .

- Boards and management usually understand the importance of such changes and are willing to invest. But it is more difficult to convince operational employees. Change always arouses resistance. The key is to show that these tools are not another obligation, but support. If employees see that new systems make their work easier, that they can work smarter, not harder - they get involved very quickly. But if the only message is: "starting tomorrow we will do it differently, because the president decided so", then such a project has no chance - indicates Bonter.

Analysis that makes sense, and how long does it take to see results?

Assa Abloy emphasizes that data can be analyzed almost immediately after the system is launched, but it takes time to draw meaningful conclusions and design effective optimization measures.

- After a month, certain trends can be noticed. But the full picture, taking into account weather variability, the rhythm of the plant's work or seasonal jumps in consumption, emerges after a quarter. This allows for an honest assessment of the situation and designing lasting solutions, not one-off "wow effects", explains Bonter.
