Europe would have to increase its arms production tenfold in some areas to deter Russia and other potential aggressors from attacking. There are significant backlogs in artillery ammunition, battle tanks, and air- and sea-launched subsonic cruise missiles. To close these gaps, arms companies should cooperate more closely with the automotive or electronics industries. This is the conclusion of a study by the management consultancy Roland Berger.
