The quarterly financial statements of several DAX companies are on the agenda. Investors may therefore remain cautious on Monday.
Equity market strategist Mislav Matejka of the investment bank JPMorgan sees a risk of disappointment in the now-underway reporting season in Europe. He cites generally mixed business, a strong euro, and tariff uncertainties as potential obstacles.
The X-Dax DE000A0C4CA0 signaled the German leading index down 0.2 percent at 24,235 points about an hour before the start of trading. The Eurozone's leading index, the EuroStoxx 50 EU0009658145, also showed signs of a slightly lower start to the week.
On Friday, the DAX had risen to almost 24,500 points in early trading – the recent record of 24,639 points was within reach again. However, profit-taking then set in, which is continuing somewhat.
