To this day, many people have "Schwab" on their shelves: the most beautiful legends of classical antiquity in three volumes. From 1838 to 1840, Gustav Schwab created this classic for children and young people; it has been reprinted numerous times and is also enjoyed by adults. No wonder, since it deals with things that concern everyone. It deals with all kinds of family dramas, both imaginable and unimaginable: neglect of children, marital wars, generational conflicts, inheritance disputes, illegitimate children, the Oedipus complex, patchwork families – all the way to the murder of sons by fathers and mothers, and of mothers and fathers by sons.
