North Korea tests missiles ahead of Trump's visit to South Korea

Pyongyang. North Korea has reportedly tested several low-flying cruise missiles. According to the state news agency KCNA, the missiles were successfully fired on Tuesday (local time) over the Yellow Sea west of the Korean Peninsula. The South Korean military has not yet commented on the North Korean statements.

The weapons test took place shortly before US President Donald Trump's visit to South Korea. Trump had recently repeatedly claimed to be open to a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Trump plans to meet with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, among others, on Wednesday.
