Car crashes into US school: At least four people dead

A driver crashes into a school in a small US town one afternoon, killing at least four people. The youngest victim is four years old.
A car crashed into a school building in the small town of Chatham, Illinois , killing at least four people between the ages of 4 and 18. Other injured people were taken to hospitals, the Illinois State Police reported on Platform X.
The driver was alone in the car and remained uninjured, but was nevertheless taken to the hospital. There was initially no information about the possible circumstances of the incident.
According to police, the car struck several people outside the afternoon school building on Monday afternoon (local time) before driving into the east wall of the building, hitting more people there. The vehicle then crashed through the west wall of the school. Three of the fatalities were struck outside the school, one inside.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker wrote on Platform X that he was horrified and mourned the victims. "Parents said goodbye to their children this morning, not knowing it would be the last time."
Just on Saturday evening, a car drove into a crowd in the Canadian city of Vancouver, killing at least eleven people.
