After severe flooding in the US state of Texas, the search for missing people continues.

According to authorities, at least 24 people have died in the floods in Texas in the southern United States. Children from a summer camp are still missing.
The state's governor, Greg Abbott, declared a state of emergency for parts of Texas to mobilize additional resources. The search for missing people continues. "We won't stop until we find everyone," Abbott said. There was no immediate update on the missing girls from a summer camp. It was still unclear how many people were considered missing.
According to Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, the dead include adults and children. Some of the bodies were found in cars that had been washed away.
The Texas area is popular for summer camps. Many people in the US take advantage of the long weekend, with Independence Day on Friday, for excursions.
Children from one particular camp, in particular, were missing. The Christian summer camp for girls currently houses more than 750 children – about 20 of whom are missing. The vice governor had previously emphasized that this doesn't necessarily mean they are lost – they could have climbed trees for safety. The situation is confusing, with no electricity or internet.
Residents in the surrounding area were urged to seek shelter. Central points of contact were established.
