Campfire freedom in the Bavarian Forest
Campfire freedom—this word describes the atmosphere at the "Adventure Camp Schnitzmühle" in the Bavarian Forest quite well. Because here, at the bend of the Schwarzer Regen river, virtually everyone who loves spending the summer outdoors meets. Once a mill, later an inn, the "Schnitzmühle" is now a mix of glamping, boutique hotel, and natural idyll. You can camp here or park your caravan in one of the 60 pitches. There are also rooms with hotel comforts, and a little further away, there are holiday homes. Inside, our house features exposed concrete and a fireplace, as well as a yellow bathroom that looks like it's straight out of a Wes Anderson movie. Outside, like all the houses, it has a terrace with the rushing river behind it. This creates a romantic escape, but also generates electricity for the on-site hydroelectric power plant. The Adventure Camp also has two spas with saunas and massages, and a swimming lake tucked away in the forest. In fact, almost everything is taken care of: You can buy groceries and fresh bread in the store or around the clock from futuristic vending machines. You can be persuaded to go canoeing, go horseback riding, or stop by the "Thai Bay" restaurant, where Bavarian classics meet Thai flavors. But no matter what you choose, almost all roads ultimately lead through the Bavarian Forest. Past tree stumps that look like nature spirits – they seem to be well-disposed towards the campers.
