Electricity market: “The energy transition is now irreversible”

|No other energy company has transformed as quickly as Vattenfall. Once the master of East German lignite, the company is now going completely "fossil-free." There is no alternative, says Germany CEO Robert Zurawski.
Robert Zurawski welcomes us to the new Vattenfall headquarters in Berlin . From the outside it is inconspicuous, but inside it is airy and modern, with lots of glass and wood. The Swedish energy company also makes money from nuclear power plants – just not in Germany . Here Vattenfall supplies several million people with electricity, installs heat pumps and operates wind turbines itself. Zurawski wears a wind turbine pin on his lapel and his cufflinks are little red cars. They are probably meant to be electric cars, as the head of Vattenfall Germany is a big fan of the energy transition . But in some places it is currently anything but running smoothly, he warns.
