Ad-hoc with impression: Battery miracle with truck with 40 km range drives almost 300 km after intervention

Advertisement / Advertising
An electric truck whose battery was so degraded that it could barely travel 40 kilometers suddenly managed almost 300 kilometers.
What happened? A small, portable device was plugged in. It wasn't science fiction or magic, but rather a targeted, electronic recovery system designed precisely to address the biggest problem of aging batteries: cell imbalance.
The result? - A single intervention, minutes instead of weeks, and a truck that drives again as if it had a new battery.
The best part? - This technology exists now, and it could change everything.
The news was released last night, too late for North America, but early enough for attentive investors in Europe. The home exchanges in North America will remain closed until Monday afternoon. However, trading in Frankfurt begins Monday morning.
Memories come back: At the beginning of May, a similar situation caused a share price increase of around 70% within a single day. The difference today: The facts are clearer, the data is more measurable. The application no longer took place in the lab, but on the street. And the market hasn't yet reacted.

Battery X Metals (WKN: A40X9W )* reports that a commercially used electric car with a severely aged battery became fully functional again through a process known as "rebalancing." Before the application, according to an authorized Canadian distributor, the vehicle's range had dropped to approximately 40 kilometers per charge, a typical case of cell voltage imbalance, which is common in older lithium-ion batteries.
After performing the procedure, which involved no mechanical intervention but simply recalibrated the voltage levels within the cells, three consecutive driving cycles demonstrated a significantly extended range: an estimated 295 kilometers per charge. This represents an increase of 255 kilometers, or 637.5 percent, without a new battery or replacement.
At the same time, a 37.7% increase in usable battery capacity was documented. The test drives were conducted under real-world operating conditions: on alternating urban and intercity routes, under no-load conditions to standardize the measurements.
A development step with relevance for potentially millions of vehiclesThe significance of these results goes beyond the individual vehicle. According to the company, the Canadian distributor operates approximately 20 identical vehicles, many of which exhibit similar symptoms. Similar models are also in use in other markets.
With the successful restoration on an affected vehicle, a documented case study under real-world conditions is now available for the first time. The deployment was carried out free of charge. There is currently no binding commercial agreement, but according to the press release, discussions are underway regarding broader application in fleet deployment.
This breakthrough comes at a crucial time: By 2031, nearly 40 million electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid vehicles worldwide are expected to fall out of their original manufacturer's warranty. This forecast—based on current trends in EV adoption and industry-standard warranty periods—underscores the growing risk for vehicle owners of battery degradation, capacity loss, and costly replacements. The ability to restore battery capacity without replacing the battery represents a promising solution to this global challenge.
Technological validation over three stagesToday’s news is the third building block in a multi-month validation series:
May 2025: The company reports a successful rebalancing attempt on a severely aged Nissan Leaf battery – one of the most frequently used models outside of the manufacturer's warranty.
June 2025: Laboratory-based test results on a severely unbalanced electric commercial vehicle were published, confirming the ability to fully electronically correct cell voltage imbalances—100%—and restore 37.7% of the battery's rated capacity. The results are consistent with previously validated results by the National Research Council of Canada.
July 2025: The test now published demonstrates how it works in everyday life - on a commercially used vehicle under road conditions.
Accompanying this, two provisional patent applications were filed with the U.S. Patent Office in April 2025. They cover the underlying electronic control method and a measurement system that enables both calibration and voltage monitoring via the same connection. The patents are still pending (applied for but not yet granted) at the time of this publication.
A company with a structural focus on three core areasIn addition to the rebalancing technology, Battery X Metals (WKN: A40X9W )* is developing two other strategic platforms:
Recycling: In collaboration with a world-leading university, the company is developing a process for recovering graphite and metal oxides from used batteries that claims to achieve over 98% graphite recovery and 96% purity for the metal oxides - all without high temperatures or harmful chemicals.
Exploration: A binding memorandum of understanding exists with TerraDX Discoveries Inc., a partner in the Nvidia Inception program, to establish a joint venture in Nevada. The goal is to identify deposits of lithium, nickel, cobalt, and graphite using a proprietary AI model trained on Nvidia hardware. The joint venture is not yet formally established, and the exploration phase has not yet begun.
Conclusion: The market has not yet reacted, but the window of opportunity is open. The news came overnight into Saturday. The North American stock exchanges are closed. Trading in Europe will resume on Monday morning. In May, this exact setup led to a rapid and strong market movement, triggered by a technical announcement without any real-world road testing. Now, however, concrete figures from a operational vehicle are available.
Past price performance is no guarantee of future developments.
