Protests against deportations in the USA: More than 200 arrests during curfew in LA
- For several days there have been protests in the Californian metropolis of Los Angeles against Donald Trump's deportation policy.
- The trigger was raids by the US immigration authorities ICE, in which several people were arrested for alleged violations of immigration law.
- In response to the ongoing protests, US President Donald Trump unilaterally deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to L.A. and doubled the number of troops a day later.
- The state of California then sued the US President for deploying the National Guard.
