Poland introduces controls at the border with Germany from Monday

Just like the German federal government, Poland's head of government now also wants to have people checked at the borders.
Poland plans to temporarily introduce controls on its border with Germany. A corresponding order will take effect next Monday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said after a cabinet meeting in Warsaw. It will also apply to the border with Lithuania.
He has not yet given reasons for the measure. Normally, there are no stationary personal checks at internal borders in the Schengen Area, to which all three countries belong. However, the federal government has already ordered controls at all German borders to combat irregular migration. The Federal Police also has the authority to turn away asylum seekers, a legally controversial issue.
