Injured in car accident: Adults and two children injured in accident in the Eifel
Six people, including two small children, were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars in the Eifel region . The accident occurred on Federal Highway 262 near Mendig (Mayen-Koblenz district), police reported.
According to reports, a 31-year-old female driver attempted to turn onto the A61 motorway toward Cologne on Saturday afternoon when she collided head-on with the oncoming car of a 36-year-old man. Her husband and two children, ages four and six, were in the woman's car – all of whom suffered serious, some life-threatening, injuries. The 36-year-old and his wife were also seriously injured.
The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Two rescue helicopters were deployed. The B262 was completely closed for several hours. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
